We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Welder to join our steelworks client in the Brampton on Swale area. This is a temporary to permanent opportunity with an immediate start available.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Structural steel welding of plates and sections on a production line up to 100mm thick.
- Capable of using MAG 135 process equipment to produce single, multi-run fillets and butt welds in the down hand position.
- Capable of carrying out visual inspections on the finished welds in accordance with the specification.
- Correct use of grinders and associated consumables whilst adhering to the HAVS regulations.
- Demonstrates commitment to HSEQ.
- Ensures that all relevant safe operating procedures are adopted in line with the company requirements.
- Works to production targets to ensure company deadlines are met.
What we're looking for:
- Time served (or possess other equivalent qualifications) in MAG 135 manual welding.
- Experience of working with structural steel is essential.
- Excellent understanding of welding codes and standards.
- Understanding and use of overhead cranes and slinging techniques.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills as well as good knowledge of production processes and systems.
Hours of work: Monday to Friday: 6am - 2:30pm, 40 hours per week. Saturday overtime available: 7am–12:30pm, paid at time and a half.
