As JDR\'s exciting expansion into Cambois, Blyth continues to gain momentum, we are seeking an additional HSE Advisor to advise and assist JDR Management on all aspects of Health, Safety and Environment on the new site.

As the HSE Advisor on site, the main responsibilities of the role are:

  • Advising and assisting on the best practice of Health Safety and Environment control and implementation of best initiatives as part of our continuous improvement commitment
  • Assist with incident and accident investigations, by drafting and preparing written reports for presentation to senior management to achieve stakeholder engagement pan JDR.
  • To assist in the design and delivery of HSE training programs throughout the Company to ensure compliance against HSE standards.
  • To improve Safety awareness and comply with current legislation and communicate/promote HSE standards to management and employees.
  • Contractor Management including induction, risk management and permit control.
  • Undertake routine inspections of machinery, chemicals, emergency equipment and evacuation as required by the site procedures.
  • Review all HSE relevant procedures and maintain and update where required to ensure compliance against ISO standards.
  • Champion the JDR TH!NK Safety Behavioural Observation program.
  • To develop and implement HSE induction programs with reference to written standards as part of the on boarding process for new and existing employees.
  • To develop and implement environmental controls to meet current legislation requirements.
  • Assist the UK HSE manager in conducting inspections and internal audits.
  • Assist in carrying out risk assessments and the implementation of corrective actions with management approval.

Job Requirements

As an experienced HSE professional, you will be NEBOSH qualified with a proven track record of dealing with all the Health, Safety and Environmental issues relating to a manufacturing/industrial organisation. You will hold core skills such as effective risk assessment, COSHH assessment, accident/incident investigation and implementation of pro-active problem solving techniques.

A thorough knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislation and trends is essential with experience of opening a new facility being advantageous. You will hold strong communication skills to engage effectively with people across all levels to ensure a thorough understanding of HSE issues.

ISO 14001:2015 & ISO 45001:2018 Internal auditing qualifications are desirable.
