JDR Cable Systems is delighted to be recruiting for a Maintenance Manager to join our Maintenance team in Houston.

As demand for our products and services continues to grow, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business at the forefront of the subsea energy sector and support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of our facilities and equipment.

The Maintenance Manager will report to the Shop Supervisor and will be responsible for organising, monitoring, and supervising facility maintenance activities while providing technical support to ensure facility compliance and operational readiness.

Working closely with the Shop Supervisor, Engineering, Technical Management, QA/QC, and shop personnel, you will support equipment fleet readiness for offshore operations, coordinate maintenance and repair activities, and help ensure facilities and equipment remain safe, compliant, and operational.

Key responsibilities will include

  • Planning, prioritising, assigning, supervising, and reviewing facility maintenance activities in coordination with the Shop Supervisor.
  • Establishing maintenance schedules and methods, identifying resource requirements, and supporting the effective allocation of resources.
  • Supporting equipment fleet readiness for offshore operations by monitoring equipment status, communicating requirements with Engineering and Technical Managers, and coordinating repairs with Shop Supervisors.
  • Developing and organising preventative maintenance and safety inspection programs for facilities and equipment.
  • Investigating and resolving maintenance requests in a timely manner, coordinating corrective actions and minimising operational disruption.
  • Monitoring supplies, consumables, tools, and equipment, including ordering materials and supporting equipment procurement and specification activities
  • Supporting the preparation and administration of the facility maintenance budget, including cost estimates, expenditure monitoring, and equipment justifications.
  • Coordinating with contractors and service providers to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with agreed requirements.
  • Supporting the Shop Supervisor with the day-to-day coordination of shop activities, helping delegate work, drive efficiency, and support training and development.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of five years' experience in equipment or facilities maintenance, ideally within the subsea energy, offshore oil and gas, heavy manufacturing, or a similar industrial environment.

You will bring practical experience in hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, and electrical repair, together with a strong understanding of electrical principles, maintenance best practices, preventative maintenance, and HVAC equipment.

You will be a highly organised and detail-oriented maintenance professional with strong analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential, along with the ability to interpret complex technical specifications, industry codes, and inspection requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with maintenance documentation, inspections, and equipment records will also be important
