As a Senior Designer, you’ll be responsible for the design and execution of a variety of projects. With a solid set of skills, a strategic approach and rich experience in bringing brilliant ideas to life, you’re now able to take on more of a leadership role. This will demand a certain level of vision and the ability to see beyond the project to the overarching needs of the brand. Using your intuition, imagination and intelligence, you’ll be able to develop creative solutions that are not only aesthetically audacious, but also insight-driven, fit-for-purpose and culturally relevant.

Responsibilities

1. Creativity:

  1. Deliver creativity that ‘Creates Belief’, meeting JDO’s high standards of creative excellence
  2. Help lead the team, challenging and inspiring those around you to reach the best solution
  3. Bring ‘Blue Sky’ thinking to the table concepts that show your thorough understanding of the brief
  4. Balance creativity with strategy to develop solutions that will be as effective and purposeful as they are beautiful and unique
  5. Present your work internally with clarity and confidence, and be able to relate your design solution directly to the challenges of brief
  6. Think holistically, recognising the purpose of your work in the scope of the brand world
  7. Value constructive criticism and be open to feedback that strengthens your work
  8. Be organised and diligent, applying meticulous attention to detail to all that you do

2. Leadership

  1. Take an active part in briefing the team, taking responsibility for the clear understanding of the tasks, challenges and expectations
  2. Effectively prioritise and manage your projects and your team to meet deadlines
  3. Take a hands-on approach to leadership and be willing to do all that you can to lead the project, team and agency to success
  4. Communicate with all members of the team with clarity, confidence and respect
  5. Be a resource as well as a source of inspiration for juniors on your team, teaching them what you know to develop their skills as a designer and your skills as a leader

Experience necessary

  1. 6+ years in the industry specifically in brand, packaging, FMCG sector
  2. A portfolio of high-quality work that showcases clear thinking, original ideas and strong creativity – with multiple examples of projects across categories that you’ve taken from initial concepts to artwork
