Role Overview
This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We are looking for a manager with experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times.
  • Opening and closing site when required due to operational hours of the business.
  • Expectation to work early in the morning, late weekdays, and weekends.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
  • Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
  • Work toward and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
  • Drive and maximize secondary spend revenue.
  • Ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
  • Maintain outside of the contract cleaning hours.
  • Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
  • Ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
  • Help create an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy themselves whilst at work.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects, or meetings that may be required.
  • Always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.

Skills and Experience

  • Must have experience, ideally in a management position within a leisure-related industry.
  • Must be passionate about customer service and be an inspirational leader in the way they manage.
  • Must be qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
  • Must have experience in driving sales and helping to coordinate local marketing activity as well as managing a successful team.
  • Ideally will have experience as an Assistant Manager helping to oversee all business areas within a leisure facility or have substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational function.
