Role overview: This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We are looking for a manager with experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.

Responsibilities:

  • Operational running of the gym at all times, opening and closing the site when required.
  • Work early in the morning, late weekdays, and weekends.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
  • Adhere to and maintain the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
  • Report and chase all defects to ensure the building and its equipment are safe to use.
  • Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
  • Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
  • Ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness, maintaining outside of the contract cleaning hours.
  • Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
  • Ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
  • Create an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy themselves whilst at work.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings that may be required.
  • Always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience, ideally in a management position within a leisure related industry.
  • Passion for customer service and an inspirational leadership style.
  • Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
  • Experience driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity as well as managing a successful team.
  • Experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational function.
