As the Category & Shopper Marketing Executive you will be part of the Category Development and Shopper Marketing team, which forms part of the wider Sales function. You will report to the Shopper Marketing Lead, working cross-functionally with other departments to deliver best in class Shopper Marketing Executions & Category Analysis. This role will work with a variety of data sources, provide category data analysis, reporting insights & planogramming to support the Category Team to land the execution of core range and distribution plans.

This role is responsible for executing our shopper activity plan across a selection of smaller customers. It involves bringing our brands and events to life for shoppers, with a focus on evaluating performance and cross-functional communication. In addition, it coordinates the management of our cardboard display solutions with our third-party display team for channels. The role requires working closely with other demand functions to reflect both our internal ambition and customer requirements in the design and execution of our activation plans & distribution plans.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development of activation plans – alignment, delivery & execution of the plan
  • Represent the customer’s needs internally and build them into our activation proposals
  • Ownership for their activation budget for the accounts responsible for – from agreeing allocation, to management/stewardship of the budget
  • Support the delivery of internal deployment meetings, and own the design & delivery of all external tool kits and selling materials
  • Work with our agencies to develop and execute bespoke customer solutions which contribute to the retailer’s own strategies
  • Work cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Category, Finance, Corporate Affairs and Supply to create and execute initiatives.
  • Execute the Activity Plan with our customers, landing points of interruptions across the shopper journey to engage shoppers, instore and online.
  • Evaluate executions with clear learnings and recommendations for future applications.
  • Led third-party cardboard delivery management to ensure timely and successful deployment across channels

Data & Reporting:

  • Responsible for delivering regular (standard) reporting and update critical scorecards used within Category & Shopper Team
  • Responsible for Perfect Store periodic reporting & scorecard reformulation if required
  • Drive scale & harmonization of data & reporting with support of Category Strategy lead
  • Provide (ad-hoc) analysis to various stakeholders
  • Build store planograms and own share of space tracking
  • Support strategy development & internal planning
  • Support Head of Category & Shopper in the development of best-in-class category fundamentals (i.e. Category Vision, Perfect store)
  • Develop templates to support the internal planning process (i.e. AOP, IVCP) and enable best-in-class input from category perspective

Support Online Execution:

  • Support NPD launches by managing the online content, working with Brandbank to ensure images, titles and descriptions are uploaded to ensure excellent execution from day 1 of launch.
  • Working with external creative agencies to design artwork to be activated across our e-comm customers – Ocado & Amazon.
  • Working with marketing and agencies to ensure our Amazon brandstores and A+ content are kept updated and engaging with relevant campaign assets.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) marketing, shopper marketing, customer activation roles.
  • FMCG / UK / Omni channel market knowledge
  • Experience of working with the top 4 grocery retailers
  • Ability to identify insights across multiple data sources and drive to action.
  • Financial acumen: able to build and track simple P&Ls and to manage a track budgets
  • Strong internal and external networker and influencing skills – ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience of working cross-functionally to deliver multiple objectives
  • Good excel and powerpoint skills
  • Mobile – ability to attend customer meetings across the UK
  • X-functional project management
  • Ideally experience across retail, out of home and e-commerce
