The Demand Planning Manager leads a team of Demand Planners to manage the service level for the country/Marketing Sales Unit. The Operations function ensures the integration of all key business processes from supplier to customers, providing products, services, and information that add value for customers and stakeholders. It manages sourcing, procurement, manufacturing, supply chain (warehousing, logistics, and distribution), and planning processes, ensuring optimal alignment between demand and supply at a global scale, considering efficiency, flexibility, security of supply, costs, working capital, quality, service levels, and societal values.
The key responsibilities of the Demand Planning Manager include:
- Leading a team of Demand Planners to manage service levels for the country/MSU.
- Improve forecast accuracy and bias.
- Identify and resolve service risks, escalating to Central Planning when stock shortages occur.
- Communicate product availability (including NPDs) versus demand to Customer Service.
- Monitor slow-moving and obsolete stocks, proposing improvement actions for approval.
- Execute local S&OP Demand meetings.
- Ensure target weekly service levels are achieved.
- Focus on talent management and team development.
- Evaluate external customer satisfaction and implement improvement activities.
Qualifications must have:
- Experience or potential to lead a team of 6-10 people.
- Highly analytical and accurate.
- Minimum 5 years of supply chain planning experience.
- Experience with SAP APO.
- Good communication skills and influencing ability.
- Ownership and initiative.
- Results-driven.
- Proficiency in English and the local language.
- FMCG experience.
- University or bachelor degree or equivalent work experience.
