Are you an entrepreneurial operator looking for your next mission? Are you ready for a 1 - 2 year international adventure: relocate to the Philippines, run a 250-person operation, and come out with a track record that’s almost impossible to get any other way? Do you want to combine strategic thinking with real operational ownership, inside a business with the ambition and capital to build a unicorn?
Our client is a well-funded, UK-based consumer technology business building a genuinely different connectivity product. Founded by a team of serial entrepreneurs with a strong track record in scaling consumer technology businesses, the company has long-term backing, serious global ambition, and a first-principles approach to how consumers connect.
They have an established 250-person customer service operation based in the Philippines, supporting their global customer base. They also have a major carrier partnership in the region, which represents a significant commercial opportunity. This is not a traditional country manager role. The person stepping into it will run the Philippines operation and own the carrier partnership: part operational leadership, part commercial ownership, and entirely about building something that scales.
The Role:
- You’ll lead the Philippines operation day-to-day while working closely with the global leadership team.
- The CS team already exists and works today. The opportunity is to step in, understand it quickly, and turn a functioning operation into an exceptional one, while developing the carrier partnership into a meaningful commercial relationship.
- This role is about owning outcomes, not producing analysis.
- You’ll likely spend your time:
- Leading and developing the Philippines leadership team
- Running and improving a large customer service operation
- Ensuring operational performance and service quality across the team
- Owning and growing a strategic carrier partnership in the region
- Building systems, processes and accountability that allow the operation to scale
- Working closely with the global leadership team on strategy and growth
- Spending meaningful time in Manila leading the organisation on the ground
About You:
People who thrive in roles like this often started their careers in high-performance analytical environments such as strategy consulting, before moving into operating roles inside high-growth technology companies, startups, or venture builders. You’re comfortable moving between structured thinking and messy real-world execution, and you enjoy situations where the brief is simple: figure it out, improve it, and make it scale.
You’ll likely have:
- Exceptional academic background and a track record in high-performance environments
- Early career experience in strategy consulting, investment banking, or a similarly analytical environment
- Experience operating inside a startup, scale-up, venture builder, or high-growth tech company
- A strong bias for action and a habit of taking ownership rather than waiting for direction
- Comfort leading large teams and taking responsibility for operational performance
- A willingness to relocate internationally and spend significant time in Manila
This role is probably right for you if:
- You enjoy owning operational and commercial outcomes, not just advising on them
- You’re excited by the idea of running a large international operation and a major partnership early in your career
- You’re comfortable stepping into complex situations, figuring things out quickly and raising the bar
- You like roles where analysis and execution go hand in hand
- You’re energised by building systems that allow organisations to scale beyond individual effort
This role is NOT right for you if:
- Your background is primarily career in outsourced operations management
- You prefer clearly defined corporate structures and established playbooks
- You’re looking for a purely strategic role rather than operational leadership
- You’re uncomfortable being accountable for a large organisation and a significant commercial relationship
What’s on offer:
A rare combination: operational leadership of a 250-person team and commercial ownership of a major carrier partnership, inside a business with the ambition, capital and leadership team to build something genuinely large. Many people who succeed in roles like this treat it as a 1 to 2 year mission: go in, build it properly, scale it, and come out with an operating track record that’s hard to replicate any other way. If this sounds like your kind of challenge, get in touch.
