Operations Partner | Early-Stage Venture Studio
We’re hiring an Operations Partner for a newly formed, founder-led venture studio . Backed by experienced entrepreneurs with multiple exits behind them, this is a rare opportunity to help shape the operational foundations of a business from day one — while supporting the launch and scaling of multiple small, high-potential companies.
This is not a strategy-only role. It’s hands-on, high-trust, and wide in scope. You’ll take full ownership of everything non-product — from finance, people, legal, and reporting, through to processes, tooling, and helping stand up new ventures.
If you’ve helped build early-stage businesses before — especially in fast-moving, creative, or venture-backed environments — and you know how to turn ambition into systems that work, we’d love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading all core operations (finance, people, legal, tooling)
- Translating long-term strategy into tactical quarterly plans
- Running planning cycles and team offsites (inspired by frameworks like Traction / Scaling Up)
- Building and maintaining operational playbooks
- Supporting company creation and acquisition integration
- Line managing finance and executive support functions
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has built operations in a startup or studio environment
- Can balance structure with flexibility — no process for process’ sake
- Understands cash, hiring, risk, and where to focus for real impact
- Works proactively, independently, and collaboratively with founders
- Thrives in lean teams and fast-changing environments
- Is remote-ready, ideally based in the UK or a nearby time zone
This is a full-time role with equity in the group and the opportunity to help shape multiple ventures from the inside. It’s perfect for someone who wants to be close to founders, have a real seat at the table, and build the systems that unlock scale.
If this opportunity sounds exciting and aligns with your expertise, we’d love to hear from you. Reach out to JD&Co Talent Partner Simon for a confidential conversation
Finally…As a targeted search, please only apply for this role if you meet the essential criteria we have outlined. We are expecting an exceptionally high volume of applications; sadly, we\’re unlikely to be able to respond to everyone individually.
