JDA Key Forensics is a family-owned business based in Standish, Wigan, specialising in vehicle key analysis. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a curious, detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Key Technician.
The role of a Key Technician is to provide key reports for a busy, expanding service, which investigates physical and electronic data in relation to vehicle keys. Working as part of a team you will need to be an effective communicator and be able to work under pressure using your own initiative, with an ability to prioritise work to meet deadlines. The applicant needs to show they are a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual who can assist us in driving the business forward. Full training will be provided, no previous experience is necessary. Educated to a good general standard, with strong literacy and numeracy skills. A keen interest in vehicles or prior experience working with cars is desirable but not essential. This is a full-time position (Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM) offering a starting salary of £23,873.30, with structured progression following probation and annual performance evaluations.
Our recruitment process begins with a CV review. Candidates who meet the criteria will be invited to a telephone interview, with in-person interviews offered to those progressing beyond this stage. New appointments are subject to a probationary period which begins once you have completed training. At the end of the probationary period, the outcome of the assessment may be confirmation of post; notice of dismissal; or at our discretion, an extension of the probationary period. A DBS check will be required.
Responsibilities:
- Thorough examination of vehicle keys involving electronic and physical examination
- Dissection of the key and components
- Research including specification, security and history
- Following analysis, a full write up of the findings prepared based on the company’s format
- Work in a positive and supportive manner and contribute to the creation of a good team environment
- General knowledge of office systems and equipment to be able to use independently
- Follow instruction from line manager and senior leadership team
- Abide by health & safety guidelines & share responsibility for your own safety and that of colleagues
- Prepare for and attend regular performance review meetings as required
- Attend training opportunities in order that knowledge and skills are maintained and attend training courses as required by the line manager
- Meet the individual performance targets and KPI’s of the service, ensuring that the work completed meets the requirements and quality standards specified
