The role involves joining our Financial Services team, which is central to our Group Strategy. Our three-year FS vision positions Financial Services as the primary growth engine of the business, and we are hiring a commercial leader to realise that vision. The Director of FS Business Development will be externally connected, commercially driven, and focused on finding, developing, and closing opportunities that grow the business. This is a market-facing role at the top of the FS function.
Reporting to the Managing Director of Financial Services and sitting on the FS Senior Team, the role has a clear purpose to deliver our commercial objectives, including:
- Recruiting new credit customers.
- Developing new product areas.
- Building external distribution relationships with aggregators, brokers, introducers, comparison platforms, and potential white-label partners.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a focused team, ensuring risk thinking is embedded in commercial strategy.
- Working with Commercial Finance to build and test business cases.
- Utilising AI for market and customer insight.
- Owning and delivering the FS new business growth strategy.
- Identifying, evaluating, and commercialising new product areas.
- Setting commercial ambition for new propositions.
- Executing new business initiatives end-to-end.
- Building and cultivating external partnerships.
- Managing external distribution relationships.
- Maintaining deep knowledge of the external landscape.
- Providing clear direction to team members.
- Engaging with Group Retail colleagues for cross-divisional opportunities.
- Reporting to the monthly Financial Services Operating Committee.
- Seeking out new business areas beyond existing channels.
- Owning the product vision and roadmap direction for new business areas.
