The role involves joining our Financial Services team as a Director of FS Business Development. Financial Services is central to our Group Strategy, and we are seeking a commercial leader to realise our three-year vision, which positions Financial Services as the primary growth engine of the business.
The Director of FS Business Development will be externally connected, commercially driven, and focused on identifying, developing, and closing opportunities that grow the business. This market-facing role reports to the Managing Director of Financial Services and sits on the FS Senior Team, with a clear purpose to deliver our commercial objectives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a focused team, ensuring risk thinking is embedded in commercial strategy.
- Collaborating with Commercial Finance to build and test business cases, and working with various teams to deliver initiatives.
- Owning and delivering the Financial Services new business growth strategy, with accountability for recruiting new FS customers.
- Identifying, evaluating, and commercialising new product areas, taking them from concept to launch.
- Setting the commercial ambition for new propositions and ensuring they are structured to be deliverable within regulatory parameters.
- Building and cultivating external partnerships with financial services providers and technology platforms.
- Developing and managing external distribution relationships to maximise performance.
- Maintaining deep knowledge of the external landscape and tracking competitors.
- Providing clear direction to team members and fostering a high-performance culture.
- Engaging with Group Retail colleagues to identify cross-divisional commercial opportunities.
- Reporting to the monthly Financial Services Operating Committee on growth delivery.
- Seeking out and developing new business areas beyond existing channels.
- Owning the product vision and roadmap direction for new business areas.

- A strong commercial track record in financial services.
- Deep expertise in consumer lending products.
- Ability to identify new business opportunities and implement solutions.
- Confidence in representing the business externally.
