We’re looking for a Fraud Strategy Manager to join our Fraud team
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fraud Strategy Manager; you will play a pivotal role in protecting the organisation and its customers from financial crime. This role demands a strategic thinker with deep expertise in fraud risk, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders across the business.
This is a key role in the Financial Services business which provides leadership and ownership in managing fraud strategy. You will lead on the development and execution of fraud prevention, conduct risk assessments, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate fraud threats.
You will report to the Senior Manager of Fraud Strategy and Analytics who is responsible for maintaining proportionate fraud prevention strategies to protect the business from fraud and other financial crime. In the role you will work closely with other teams in the wider organisation, e.g. Retail, Customer Operations, Warehouse Operations, Risk and Compliance, and Digital Operations.
What will you do as a Fraud Strategy Manager at N Brown?
- Set and manage fraud strategy to meet the fraud risk appetite
- Oversee risk assessments, monitor policy governance and ensure plans are maintained for changes in products, services or the fraud environment.
- Lead the design and implementation of fraud prevention strategies across products, services, and customer journeys.
- Champion upstream control improvements and influence change outside of fraud systems.
- Conduct fraud risk assessments (FRAs) to identify vulnerabilities in existing and new processes.
- Perform root cause analysis on fraud incidents and deliver actionable recommendations.
- Monitor fraud trends and emerging threats, incorporating insights into strategic planning.
- Collaborate with other areas of the business e.g., Fraud Operations, Digital Operations, Retail teams to ensure robust fraud controls.
- Provide recommendations to senior stakeholders to support fraud-related decision-making and risk assessments.
- Engage with external industry bodies and vendors to stay ahead of fraud trends and technologies.
- Deliver fraud awareness initiatives across the organisation.
- Translate technical standards and policies into strategic priorities for business units.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and tools to enhance fraud detection and prevention capabilities.
- Lead technology engagement, support RFPs and innovation proposals with industry insights and impact assessments.
What skills and experience will you have?
- Proven experience in fraud strategy, risk management and financial crime prevention.
- Strategic thinker with a demonstrated ability to solve problems, anticipate future fraud threats and solutions to these.
- Strong knowledge of UK fraud legislation, regulatory requirements (e.g., FCA, AML), and industry best practices.
- Strong understanding of fraud typologies, fraud systems, and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
- Experience in conducting fraud risk assessments and implementing anti-fraud controls.
- Knowledge of financial services and the broader impact of fraud on business operations.
- Understanding of fraud detection tools, case management systems, and data analysis platforms.
- Good understanding of fraud and non-fraud chargebacks and how 3DS liability shift works.
- Confident to speak up to ensure fraud risks are understood and mitigated
- It would be desirable to be familiar with data analytical tools (e.g. SAS, SQL), but not essential

Ways of Working
We offer hybrid working which varies across the business depending on the role you’re in. Our Head Office is located in the Northern Quarter in Manchester City Centre. So if you are travelling by train, tram or bus we’re perfectly located, plus we’re surrounded by cool cafes, trendy bars and the best places to eat!
Our working hours are 36.17 per week and our core working hours are between 10am – 4pm. Given we don’t have strict working hours you can find the working pattern that’s right for you.
