Role Description
This is a full-time Hybrid role for an Experienced Timber Frame Structural Engineer. The role involves preparing structural designs and calculations for timber frame and SIPs projects, from concept through to detailed design. The engineer will perform structural analysis, develop framing layouts, and coordinate with architects, timber frame manufacturers, and contractors to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant structures. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing drawings, producing CAD models and details, checking engineering outputs, and responding to technical queries during design and construction. The role also includes contributing to continuous improvement of design standards, mentoring less experienced colleagues, and supporting project delivery timelines and quality requirements.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Structural Engineering and Civil Engineering, with specific experience in timber frame and/or SIPs structures.
- Possess proven ability in Structural Analysis and engineering Calculations for residential and commercial building projects.
- Proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for producing and reviewing structural drawings and details.
- Relevant degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or equivalent) and professional registration.
- Experience with UK building regulations, Eurocodes, and industry standards, along with clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple projects, and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
