Role Overview: To develop, implement, and monitor health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and promoting a safe working environment across the organisation. The role will drive best practice and continuous improvement within a rapidly expanding, fast-paced environment.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
- Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders, providing daily support, guidance, and practical advice on health and safety matters.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the organisation’s Health & Safety (H&S) management system.
- Maintain ISO 45001 accreditation and ensure ongoing compliance.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and associated regulations.
- Monitor and review H&S policies, procedures, and systems to promote continuous improvement.
- Provide professional advice and guidance to management and employees on all H&S matters.
- Analyse incident trends and support improvement initiatives to reduce risk.
- Develop, deliver, and monitor H&S training programmes.
- Promote a positive safety culture and encourage employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Ensure employees and contractors are competent and fully aware of their responsibilities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date H&S documentation, records, and reports.
- Manage contractor safety, including pre-qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with PUWER and demonstrate competence in machinery and automation safety.
- Support and manage CDM (Construction Design and Management) requirements where applicable.
- Provide guidance on dangerous goods management and compliance.
- Undertake any additional duties as reasonably requested by the Head of Health & Safety Manager.

Qualifications & Experience:
- NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent).
- Proven experience working within an ISO 45001 framework.
- CertIOSH status or working towards.
- Dangerous goods qualifications.
- Experience in audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Demonstrable experience in CDM management.
- Knowledge of automation safety, PUWER regulations, and dangerous goods management.
- Conducting PUWER assessments.
Working Conditions:
- Office and site-based role.
- Monday – Friday, 40 Hour Week.
- Flexibility to undertake occasional late shifts to support night operations, including audits and inspections.
