THE ROLE
As Back of House Manager, you will own all activity happening in the BOH. This includes managing inbound deliveries, preparing outbound transfers, leading a team, and ensuring inventory accuracy & efficiency per company standards. This is a key role within the store’s leadership team, which reports to the store manager plus a dotted line to JD Canada BOH Manager (Support Office). Your experience making quick decisions, and the ability to pivot with ever changing business needs will be tested daily! The ideal candidate will have a high sense of urgency, be self driven; motivated, have a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead day-to-day operations of the stockroom (BOH).
- Ensure accurate labeling, logical placement, and maintaining general order & cleanliness of the BOH.
- Managing daily e-commerce fulfillment, which consists of picking, packing and shipping orders direct to our customers.
- Communicate daily with customer service, support office leaders, and other stores via slack, email or other channels.
- Decrease store shrinkage by researching inventory discrepancies and problem-solving issues to ensure optimal inventory levels & sales.
- Oversee store supplies, ensuring the retail store has everything it needs for daily/weekly operation.
- Lead by example while providing a positive and inclusive work environment for the entire team.
- Encourage and foster personal progression throughout the staff team.
- As part of the management team, you will be responsible to fully understand; work within company guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Helping with onboarding and training of new starters.
- Maintain an awareness of all product knowledge, and current or upcoming product / trends.
REQUIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND BEHAVIORS
- 3+ years stockroom and/or distribution center experience
- 2+ years people management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and task oriented.
- Must have a high sense of urgency.
- Being both proactive and organized.
- Full time availability – standard daily starts as early 8am, including late nights, weekends, and holidays in line with changing business needs.
- Proven experience supervising, training and developing team members.
- Strong cognitive and mathematical skills, including problem analysis, decision making and financial analysis.
- High level of ethics, values, integrity, and trust.
- Openness to feedback and willingness to develop.
- Leadership - You’re an inspirational and dynamic leader who is naturally warm and compassionate towards others with an insatiable drive to exceed results and celebrate successes.
- Being passionate and knowledgeable about streetwear and sneaker culture.
- G-Suite, experience with Gmail, Google Docs, Sheets is an asset.
- Experience with Jesta POS, Shopify and Slack platform is an asset.
