The Payroll team supports our colleagues across the business by ensuring their pay is processed seamlessly. Our aim is to deliver a first class service so our colleagues can keep doing what they do best! The Payroll Team Leader will work alongside the other Team Leaders, Assistant Managers, and Payroll Managers in making this happen and supporting in creating team KPI's. You will help support a team of 16 payroll associates, and executives as they process payroll for our 30,000 colleagues across the UK and Republic of Ireland. We are creating a team with the reputation for being exceptional, with our colleagues at the heart of everything we do.
Your role will encompass overseeing the team and assisting them with their ongoing training and development, making sure payroll gets done the right way and right first time, ensuring our colleagues are receiving the right outcome to their queries, and implementing process improvements and streamlining to make what we do even better.
Responsibilities- Ensure the completion of payrolls for 30,000 colleagues over 22 monthly payrolls, including 5 Offshore payrolls and 3 ROI payrolls
- Ensure the team are meeting key deadlines and SLA’s to a high quality
- Promoting best practice and ensuring the team are keeping our colleagues at the centre of what they do
- Training the team on payroll processing and legislative changes, monitoring their performance and helping them develop in their careers
- Proactively keeping an eye on trends in queries and liaising with key stakeholders across the business to resolve issues at source
- Being the go-to person for guidance and support both within the team and across the business
- Experience of working with Dayforce payroll software
- CIPP or similar accredited
- Experience of mentoring a team
- Expert Excel skills
- Experience of analysing processes and looking for continuous improvement
- Previous experience of working with high volume payrolls
- A solid understanding of payroll, benefits and general legislation, ideally to include some offshore or ROI legislation knowledge
- Strong time management and coordination skills to help manage the team to meet key deadlines
- People focused, with a desire to see your team succeed
- A desire to learn and continuously improve
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy
- Being able to keep our colleagues at the centre of all you do
- Able to organise your time to meet key deadlines both by yourself and support team member to meet theirs
- Excellent communication skills to be able to break down pay queries and make them understandable for our colleagues and your team members
