Job Title: Quality Control Technician

Facia: Own Brand Group

Department: Quality Control, Design & Buying

Location: Kingsway Distribution Centre, Michael Faraday Avenue, Milnrow, Rochdale, OL16 4FW

Company: JD Sports Fashion Plc, established 1981; leading omni-channel retailer of Sports Fashion, Outdoors and Gyms.

Note: The company aims to be a leading global omnichannel retailer in the sports and outdoor industry.

Responsibilities

  • Measure and inspect garments & products for quality defects
  • Use AQL levels and systems to create order reports
  • Compare seal samples with PLM system information
  • Report, record and analyse results on a weekly/monthly basis
  • Liaise and communicate issues with internal/external departments daily
  • Arrange rectification and re-processing as required
  • Plan workloads based on daily intake
  • Organise Gold Seal samples and reports for next week/day’s orders
  • Review returns & factory AQL reports against stock intakes
  • Move and locate bulk warehouse stock for inspection using internal systems
  • Maintain spreadsheets using Excel; create graphs and charts for reporting
  • Produce ad-hoc reports and analysis for the team as required
  • Conduct off-site product checks at stores and with third parties

Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • Good organisational and communication skills
  • A keen eye for detail and fault finding
  • Computer literate
  • Numerical and analytical abilities
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Full driving licence required; some travel to head office, external companies and stores
  • Pattern cutting / design is an advantage but not essential
  • Flat/overlock machinist experience is an advantage but not essential
  • Previous QC/QA or retail experience is an advantage but not essential
