Established in 1981, JD Group is a leading omni‑channel retailer of sports fashion, outdoor and gym brands with over 4,500 stores across 36 countries. The Sourcing Manager – SaaS & Digital reports to the Senior Sourcing Manager – Tech & Digital and supports commercial activities within the Technology & Online division.
In this role you will support commercial support including risk management, supplier identification, planning and re‑tenders across multiple divisions, ensuring commercial clauses are negotiated and suppliers meet performance targets. You will also develop procurement strategies, conduct RFPs, negotiate commercial agreements and manage ongoing vendor performance to deliver continuous savings and process improvements.
- Close engagement with colleagues on revenue, CAPEX budgets and embedding savings, supporting business cases for new projects.
- Transparent presentation of contract awards, sourcing changes and recommendations.
- Utilise Group Finance platforms and templates for POs, tenders and e‑Auctions, ensuring financial and operational мун.
- Engage with Legal to minimise risk and maximise commercial leverage via agreements with service levels, KPIs and remedies for non‑performance.
- Leverage wider JD‑Group commercial opportunities and work with Acquisition contacts to accelerate financial benefits.
- Support sustainability goals including climate change, sustainable sourcing and circular economy practices.
- Act as trusted adviser and lead procurement projects across all service categories.
- Define process and policy, hold team members accountable and support business in identifying RFP requirements.
- Digital Trading teams, Product Owners, Core Tech, Transformation, Legal and Finance.
- UK and International colleagues and external suppliers.
- Commercial experience in omni‑channel retail (or related services) with the ability to manage ambiguity and change.
- Strong negotiation and influence skills, comfortable owning problems and solutions.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and process improvement delivery.
- Data‑driven mindset, analytical skills and ability to develop innovative solutions.
- Project management skills, deadline‑driven, autonomous, energetic, and strategic thinking.
- Proficiency in MS Office and relevant procurement software.
- Deep understanding of procurement procedures and building complex supplier relationships.
- Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business or related field.
- Minimum 2 years experience as a Sourcing Manager in IT, SaaS and/or Online categories.
- Strong negotiation and leadership skills; proven track record of building complex relationships.
