Role overview
We are seeking a skilled Assistant Manager with strong leadership & communication abilities to guide their team towards achieving sales & KPI targets whilst providing unparalleled service.
Responsibilities
Supporting the Store Manager in effectively running all store operations to ensure meeting or exceeding sales & KPI targets. Setting clear sales goals, tracking performances whilst evolving processes to ensure continuous store growth. Creating a positive team culture through recruiting, training & continuously developing your staff. Building a motivated and high performing team, increasing chances of store success. Analysing sales data and financial reports to make quick and well‑informed decisions alongside the Store Manager, identifying and responding to areas of opportunity operationally & commercially. Acting as the point of contact for colleagues in the manager’s absence. Providing excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and resolving complaints professionally. Managing day‑to‑day operations, including opening and closing procedures. Supporting cash management tasks, such as processing transactions and reconciling tills. Participating in hiring, onboarding, and training new employees. Providing feedback and coaching to colleagues to improve performance. Supporting the Store Manager in maintaining colleague schedules to ensure proper coverage and productivity. Role objectives and KPI’s: Contributing to achieving or exceeding the store’s monthly sales target. Driving all additional KPIs including but not limited to Units, Conversion, ATV, UPT. Achieving upselling or cross‑selling targets. Maintaining a high Net Promotor Score. Ensuring stock accuracy during store audits. Ensuring all new colleagues complete mandatory training. Ensuring employee satisfaction and engagement survey results meet or exceed company benchmarks. Assisting in keeping operational costs within the allocated budget.
Skills and Experience
Previous supervisory or management experience in a fast‑paced retail/customer‑facing environment. Passionate about retail & hold a good understanding of the latest trends and our competitors. Previous experience of coaching and developing individuals. Strong communication skills. Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and KPI’s. Experience in analysing KPI data to make commercial decisions. Keen eye for detail & commerciality. Previous experience within visual merchandising would be advantageous. Promoting JD Group values to internal and external stakeholders.
