Reporting To: Senior Product Developer
Department: JD Own Brand
Location: Hollinsbrook Way, Pilsworth, Bury, Lancs BL9 8RR
Hours: 40 hours/week
Role Overview: The Junior Product Developer will assist the Senior Product Developer & Product Developer in developing JD Own Brand products. The role involves responsibility for specific areas under close supervision. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications, some experience, and a passion for our products.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Issue packs/comments & communicate with suppliers throughout the process
- Set up basic size charts, maintain, and update the block library
- Interpret fit meeting notes
- Create basic BOMs
- Complete test report approvals/ITS online, chase suppliers, and manage approvals
- Understand test matrices and train with PD on their creation
- Create Care Label Templates
- Monitor critical path
- Support packing list & invoice queries
- Analyze sales data
- Manage specific ranges under guidance
- Handle incoming/outgoing samples with proper documentation
- Maintain style details/info on relevant systems
- Assist in creating tech packs and costings on the PLM system
- Approve lab dips and strike-offs, referring issues to the design and buying teams
- Participate in fit sessions and record comments in the PLM system
- Measure samples and record comments
- Maintain the critical path on PLM, follow up with suppliers, and report issues
- Assist with costing, negotiation, and order raising on the PLM system
Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Needed:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
- JD retail experience is highly desirable
- Basic knowledge of Illustrator is an advantage
- Good organizational and communication skills
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in Clothing Technology and Product Development
