Role Overview
To provide site-wide support to the Engineering Team, responding and undertaking lower-level reactive, maintenance and general engineering activities. The successful candidate will work within the scope of their training to support the Operational and Engineering teams by ensuring the movement of material within the distribution centres.
Responsibilities
- Proactively engage in asset care and maintenance within the scope of the role, demonstrating an awareness of faults/issues and using knowledge/skill/experience to pre-empt potential failures.
- Perform PPM (Planned Preventative Maintenance) visual inspections of Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) and report potential failures to the engineering teams.
- Provide ownership and upkeep of visual standards, working within areas of ownership as required.
- Assist Engineering with fault rectification, maintenance and housekeeping activities as directed.
- Ensure areas of ownership are always kept clean and tidy.
- Reactive MHE Support: Undertake first response, escalation, and lower-level fault rectification on MHE under the correct level of supervision.
Skills and Experience
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy.
- A flexible approach to changing priorities.
- Working at heights and rescue at height certified (training will be provided).
- Able to work unsupervised, using own initiative.
- Good understanding of SCADA.
- Interpersonal Skills with the ability to communicate with all levels.
- Ability to perform lower-level Engineering tasks.
- Experience of working in either an engineering/automated manufacturing or distribution environment.
