Salary: £400 per hour Senior, £475 per hour Lead.

Location: Onsite in Sheffield, Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, or Birmingham – 3 days a week.

Key Requirements

  • Java 21 (or later) with TDD and BDD experience in large microservice architectures.
  • Experience of MongoDB or other document databases.
  • Experience within Java Development Kit (JDK 11) and Spring Boot to build modular, maintainable services aligned to enterprise standards.
  • Demonstrable work experience with enterprise middleware platforms including WebLogic Server (Enterprise Edition) and CAS SDK for secured high-performance integrations.
  • Experience collaborating with cloud and infrastructure teams to deploy solutions into secure, scalable public cloud environments (e.g., AWS) using containers.
  • Advocate for and employ good development practices: consistent branching strategy, coding standards, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration, and Continuous Testing.
  • Support technical leads in crafting separation of functionality into microservices and end‑to‑end integration and flow between technical services.

Job Type and Pay: Junior Java developer – 12 months FTC, £33,000 a year, hybrid onsite in Newcastle.
