My client is seeking a Site Manager to oversee the safe and efficient operation of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across multiple UK sites. This role involves hands-on site management, technical coordination and contractor management to ensure optimal performance and compliance with health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead site safety culture and ensure compliance with UK HSE regulations.
  • Manage contractors and enforce safe systems of work.
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues (BMS, SCADA/DAS, HVAC, etc.).
  • Execute service agreements and monitor KPIs for asset performance.
  • Act as primary on-site contact for stakeholders and customers.
  • Coordinate technical support, upgrades, and projects for maintenance campaigns.
  • Drive continuous improvement and capture lessons learned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience (5+ years in energy/power sector).
  • Strong technical knowledge of HV/LV systems, inverters, and control systems (ideally BESS or grid-scale assets).
  • Proficiency with SCADA/DAS and data analysis tools.
  • Solid understanding of health & safety regulations and permit-to-work processes.
  • Experience with grid-scale BESS or renewable energy assets.
  • Project management experience in industrial/energy contexts.

Certifications

  • IOSH Managing Safely (NEBOSH preferred), First Aid, Electrical Safety.
  • Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
