My client is seeking an Associate Project Manager to support the delivery of utility-scale and commercial Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from late-stage development through construction and commissioning. Working closely with senior project managers, this role focuses on coordination, project controls, documentation, and stakeholder communication. This is an excellent development role offering structured progression toward full Project Manager responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Support day-to-day project coordination across multiple BESS sites.
- Maintain project plans, schedules, reports, and risk registers.
- Assist with procurement, commercial tracking, and invoice validation.
- Coordinate technical interfaces with contractors, equipment suppliers, and grid operators.
- Manage documentation, meeting records, and project reporting.
- Support quality, health & safety, and compliance activities through construction and commissioning.
- Contribute to project handover and close-out processes.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- 1β3 yearsβ experience in project coordination or junior project management.
- Experience in renewables, utilities, power, or infrastructure.
- Exposure to construction sites and contractor engagement.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with project scheduling tools.
- Willingness to travel regularly to project sites across the UK.
Desirable
- Degree in engineering, construction, or related disciplines.
- Knowledge of BESS, grid connections, or high-voltage works.
- Project management or H&S certifications (e.g., APM, PRINCE2, IOSH).
