Business Development Manager β High Voltage Transmission (UK) I'm working for a leading global manufacturer of transformers who looking to expand into the UK market alongside their VP of Sales. Our client is a globally established engineering and manufacturing organisation specialising in high-voltage power transmission and transformation equipment. With a strong international footprint and decades of experience delivering large-scale grid infrastructure projects, the company is recognised for its technical innovation in ultra-high voltage (UHV) and HV solutions. As part of a strategic expansion into the UK market, the organisation is actively investing in building a local commercial presence to support utilities, grid operators, and major infrastructure upgrades aligned to energy transition goals. The Business Development Manager β UK will be responsible for driving commercial growth across the UK transmission and distribution sector, with a focus on securing business with Distribution Network Operators (DNOs) and the Transmission System Operator (TSO) . This is a high-impact, front-facing role requiring both strategic market development and hands-on sales execution, with a focus on high-voltage equipment solutions. Market Development & Strategy Develop and execute a UK-focused business development strategy targeting DNOs and the TSO Identify and pursue new opportunities within transmission and distribution infrastructure projects Key Account Management Act as the main commercial point of contact for strategic clients Sales & Tendering Lead the full sales cycle, including opportunity identification, tender participation, and contract negotiation Engage with utilities, EPC contractors, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings Market Intelligence Monitor UK grid investment plans, regulatory frameworks, and competitor activity Work closely with global engineering, project delivery, and manufacturing teams to ensure alignment with client needs Provide customer feedback to support product development and localisation Proven experience in business development or sales within the high-voltage / power transmission sector Established network within UK utilities, EPCs, or grid infrastructure stakeholders Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills Strong understanding of UK energy market dynamics and regulatory environment Work on major infrastructure projects critical to the UKβs energy transition Competitive package with performance-related incentives This role will be remote across the UK, but will require travel to customer meetings.
