An exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter station infrastructure as part of a nationally significant electricity transmission programme. This role is central to enabling the UK’s energy transition and strengthening cross-border grid connectivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full lifecycle of HVDC converter station delivery, from design through commissioning
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning
  • Interface with internal stakeholders, contractors, OEMs, and grid operators
  • Ensure compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee project controls including budget, schedule, risk, and reporting
  • Support contract management under NEC or FIDIC frameworks
  • Drive quality assurance and performance across all phases of delivery

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering large-scale electrical infrastructure projects, ideally HVDC or transmission-related
  • Strong understanding of converter station systems, grid integration, and high-voltage technologies
  • Familiarity with project controls tools (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) and contract management
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Project Management, or related discipline
  • Chartered status or professional certification (e.g., PMP, APM, PRINCE2) preferred
