The predicted salary is between 30000 - 42000 £ per year.
Responsible for fixing problems associated with Customer and Company vehicles. To perform preventive maintenance on vehicles, such as oil change, tyre rotation and other tasks to prevent premature wear and tear. Contribute towards the health and safety of all employees under direct management. Deliver a high level of customer service on behalf of all work providers and in a safe and professional manner. This position will require out of hours and overtime.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
- To be able to use or source various diagnostic tools and procedures to determine the root cause of problems.
- Using hand tools and astute observation to determine the cause of the issue.
- Correcting defects required.
- Welding to fix problems.
- To have extensive knowledge of a variety of service schedules for many makes and models of vehicles.
- Keeping the garage stocked with basic items such as fluids, filters and other commonly used items.
- Good communication with regular customers in order to resolve issues.
- Assemble and fit parts.
- Maintain tools to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Determine what materials and equipment are needed for a given job.
- Carry out daily maintenance and safety checks on vehicles and on board equipment, or such other checks as may be required by statute, or as instructed.
- Drive the Company vehicles specified by your Manager, giving due regard to other road users, and comply at all times with the current statutory vehicle and road traffic regulations.
- Provide a rapid response to stranded motorists.
- Effect road side repairs.
- Give assurance to vulnerable drivers, general motoring advice and customer support.
- Provide workshop repairs to get customers back on the road in the shortest time possible.
- Assist with loading and off-loading of customers' vehicles as necessary, signing for loads where applicable.
- Complete worksheets and other records daily as required.
- Carry out other duties as may reasonably be associated with your position, are within your capabilities and competence normally carried out in the course of the Company’s business.
Key Requirements:
- Excellent knowledge of various makes and models of vehicles.
- To be reliable, adaptable and flexible to work demands.
- Requires good communication skills.
- Monday to Friday 08.00 until 17.00.
- Due to the Company's variable workload you will be required to be on call.
