About the Role
As a Sonographer at JD Healthcare, you will deliver a high-quality fertility ultrasound service at the heart of our multidisciplinary clinical team. From follicular tracking and ovarian reserve assessments to early pregnancy scans and gynaecological investigations, your expertise will directly support diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring throughout the patient’s fertility journey. What You Will Do
- Perform transvaginal, transabdominal, Doppler, fertility monitoring, gynaecological and early pregnancy ultrasound examinations in line with clinic protocols
- Undertake follicular tracking, ovarian reserve, endometrial and pelvic assessments to support fertility investigations and treatment cycles
- Assess, interpret and report ultrasound findings accurately to support clinical decision‑making and treatment planning
- Monitor patients during treatment cycles and elevate clinical, wellbeing or safeguarding concerns appropriately
- Produce timely ultrasound reports and maintain accurate patient records within the electronic patient management system
- Contribute to audit, quality assurance, incident reporting and service improvement initiatives
- Maintain and support ultrasound equipment, reporting faults promptly and maintaining servicing and maintenance records
- Support the development of ultrasound SOPs, competency frameworks and best practice standards across the team
What We Are Looking For
Essential
- Registered Nurse with a current, valid NMC registration
- Minimum 1–2 years' experience performing baseline and follicular tracking ultrasound scans
- Competency in fertility ultrasound scanning, signed off within scope of practice
- BFS training for advanced fertility ultrasound scanning or equivalent competency
- Experience working within a fertility or reproductive healthcare setting
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and counselling skills with a patient‑centred approach
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Desirable
- Advanced fertility ultrasound scanning experience
- Experience supporting embryo transfer and oocyte retrieval procedures
- HyCoSy competency
- Fertility counselling qualification or relevant training
- Experience in audit, quality improvement or service development
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior clinical staff
