Role Purpose: To ensure our members have an exceptional experience within our gyms, we pride ourselves on high standards of maintenance. As a Maintenance Operative, you will undertake repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of gyms based across the South of England, ensuring high quality workmanship and compliance. Sites to cover include Southampton, Milton Keynes, Luton, Harlow, Farnborough, and Uxbridge.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs across all clubs based across the South.
- Deliver planned preventative maintenance on site, including proactive and reactive work.
- Perform minor plumbing tasks such as replacing taps and unblocking sinks and drains.
- Handle repairs as instructed by the facilities department.
- Conduct minor electrical repairs and fixings.
- Undertake general redecorating works.
- Execute general fault finding.
- Regularly inspect internal and external areas of the gyms that may pose potential hazards and rectify them.
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Multi‑skilled across plumbing (copper and PVC), carpentry, and minor electrical works.
- Competent in basic building repairs and maintenance.
- Knowledge of ventilation systems.
- Capable of redecoration and refurbishment works.
- Able to complete small plastering/wall damage works.
- Proficient in using small industrial, electrical, or mechanical equipment.
- Familiar with health and safety procedures and precautions.
- Demonstrates literacy, numeracy, and IT skills sufficient to use the Mainteno reporting system.
- Physically fit, able to lift, bend, stretch, and work at heights.
- Has a clean driving licence.
Additional Details
- The role is predominantly Monday to Friday, but due to the nature of the leisure industry, you will be required to be on call outside of these hours, including weekends, to assist with any emergencies that may arise.
