Role overview
This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager. We are looking for a manager with experience of maintaining and developing the standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities
- Operational running of the gym at all times, opening and closing the site as required.
- Work early mornings, late weekdays, weekends and other hours to meet the operational schedule.
- Ensure all health and safety policies, company procedures and the JD Gyms Brand Standard are adhered to.
- Conduct daily, weekly and monthly safety checks, report and chase all defects to keep the building and equipment safe.
- Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue, meet all sales and membership targets and aim to achieve the set targets.
- Maintain the gym facility to the highest standard of cleanliness, overseeing in‑house cleaning and uniform standards.
- Deliver outstanding member service and create a positive environment for the team and contractors.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings that may be required.
- Act as an ambassador of JD Gyms.
Skills and Experience
- Experience in a management position within a leisure‑related industry.
- Passionate about customer service and an inspirational leader.
- Qualified to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
- Experience driving sales and coordinating local marketing activity, managing a successful team.
- Ideal experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar operational function.
