Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times.
  • Opening and closing the site when required due to operational hours of the business.
  • Expectation to work early in the morning, late weekdays, and weekends.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures in both the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook are adhered to.
  • Responsible for adhering to and maintaining the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks.
  • Report and chase all defects, to ensure the building and its equipment is safe to use.
  • Work towards and aim to achieve all sales and membership targets that are set.
  • Drive and maximise secondary spend revenue.
  • Ensure the whole of the gym facility is of the highest standard of cleanliness.
  • Maintain cleaning outside of contract hours.
  • Ensure the in‑house cleaners (General Assistant) are cleaning to the highest standard.
  • Ensure uniform standards are being adhered to by all team members and yourself.
  • Always deliver outstanding member service.
  • Help create an environment where the team and contracted personnel enjoy themselves whilst at work.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects or meetings that may be required.
  • Always be an ambassador of JD Gyms.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience, ideally in a management position within a leisure related industry.
  • Passion for customer service and inspirational leadership in the way they manage.
  • Qualification to at least Level 2 Gym Instructor.
  • Experience in driving sales and helping to co‑ordinate local marketing activity as well as managing a successful team.
  • Ideally experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or other similar operational function.
