Role and Company Area Manager – Midlands at JD GymsLocation: Location SpecificRole and Key Duties Overall responsibility for the day to day operations and sales activity within the area.Proactive management of the area\’s sales and operations to achieve consistency and excellence in agreed service levels.Collaborate with General Managers on sales and operational performance and develop processes to underpin growth.Maintain and monitor standards and performance through applicable controls and procedures.Monitor cleaning, housekeeping and maintenance quality across all gyms in the area.Lead and develop General Managers and other staff as appropriate, including coaching, mentoring, performance reviews and addressing underperformance.Support selection, appraisal and disciplinary processes in collaboration with General Managers and senior management where appropriate.Oversee health and safety policies and procedures.Manage financial controls in partnership with General Managers to maximise gym profitability.Regularly report to Head of Operations / Regional Business Manager on sales and operational performance, issues and improvements with detailed multi-level reports.Identify opportunities for growth, cost savings and positive change.Consider energy, environmental issues and waste management.Analyse and present key data to support new ideas and initiatives.Skills / Experience / Knowledge Management experience within gyms or the leisure industryStrong leadership qualities and experience managing a large and diverse teamProven ability to drive results through othersStrong communication skills across various media and audiencesStrong commercial awarenessIT skills: Microsoft Outlook, Word and ExcelAbility to manage time, organise and prioritise workloadTravel will be essentialBenefits and Opportunities We offer staff benefits including discounts on JD Group and other brands, and personal development opportunities to learn and develop at work.Employment Details Seniority level: Mid-Senior levelEmployment type: Full-timeJob function: Sales and Business DevelopmentIndustries: Retail
