Role overview:
This role requires a team player with flair and commercial ability, and the skill, energy, and determination to help drive and develop the business alongside the General Manager.
We are looking for a manager with experience in maintaining and developing standards and reputation, whilst nurturing a growing membership base and team.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the operational running of the gym at all times, including opening and closing the site as required by operational hours.
- Work flexible hours, including early mornings, late weekdays, and weekends.
- Ensure adherence to all policies and procedures outlined in the Health and Safety Employee Policy and Company Procedures Handbook.
- Maintain and adhere to the JD Gyms Brand Standard.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks; report and follow up on all defects to ensure the building and equipment are safe to use.
- Aim to achieve all set sales and membership targets.
- Drive and maximize secondary spend revenue.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness throughout the gym, including outside of contracted cleaning hours.
- Ensure the in-house cleaners (General Assistant) meet cleanliness standards.
- Ensure all team members adhere to uniform standards.
- Deliver outstanding member service consistently.
- Create an enjoyable work environment for the team and contracted personnel.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties, projects, or meetings as required.
- Represent JD Gyms as an ambassador at all times.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience in a management position within the leisure industry is preferred.
- Passionate about customer service and capable of inspiring leadership.
- Qualified at least to Level 2 Gym Instructor.
- Experience in driving sales, coordinating local marketing activities, and managing a successful team.
- Ideally, experience as an Assistant Manager overseeing all business areas within a leisure facility, or substantial experience as a Fitness Manager or similar role.
