Responsibilities
- Work with the Trade Lead and Commercial Finance Teams to plan market targets and phasing.
- Maintain the digital trading calendar for the market.
- Own and drive key projects and enhancements for the market website and app channels.
- Monitor competitor activity, identify new trends and developments.
- Prepare the weekly trading summary and daily progress updates.
- Review previous week’s performance and propose actions for the current week.
- Analyze daily sales to identify weaknesses, propose and implement actions to increase sales and ensure optimal stock availability.
- Track, report and recommend solutions for slow sellers.
- Suggest markdown and promotional events aligned with brand strategy; track performance and report on successes and missed opportunities.
- Propose stories and sign off products selected by the Merchandisers for mailers and the website.
- Review best‑selling items in stores to promote top lines.
- Refine and optimise merchandising activity by analysing traffic and sales data across categories.
- Build strong relationships with Digital Marketing, Retail and Marketing teams.
- Develop and train the trading executive and their weekly workload.
- Manage relationships with Operational teams to maximise local warehouse fulfilment.
- Manage relationships with Customer Care to improve the customer experience.
- Assist the Digital Trading Head to deliver agreed sales targets.
- Coordinate all channel and digital teams to execute launches and campaigns.
- Deliver the JD Digital P&L.
- Use analytical platforms to manage business P&L and conduct forecasting, reconciliation, and trading calendar management.
- Lead launch management and cross‑function coordination.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working across a range of analytical platforms.
- Experience managing a business P&L.
- Proficiency with large datasets and reporting tools (e. g., Excel, Power BI, Google Analytics).
- Experience within a trading function.
- Good understanding of e‑commerce business functions including Merchandising, Content, Performance Marketing and Customer Logistics.
- Ability to develop and upskill junior team members.
- Commercial brand awareness, exceptional interpersonal skills and teamwork.
- Decision‑making skills and knowledge of marketing channel coordination.
- Experience with forecasting, reconciliation, trading calendar, profit & loss, launch management, cross‑function coordination and team training.
