Operating Ratio: 80/20 Current / Future
Key Objective: To support the team by taking responsibility for ensuring all products are in the right stores to achieve departmental sales, markdown, stock, intake, and profit plans. This role is primarily 'Store' focused but involves working with the product file. The role also substitutes for the Merchandiser in their absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning
- Provide the Merchandiser and Buyer with previous season analysis at store and product level.
- Assist in creating the store strategy with the Merchandiser/Buyer.
- Help formulate the range plan at store level with the Merchandiser/Buyer.
- Work with the Merchandiser to ensure pre-scheduling aligns with options and range plan at store level.
- Create ratios for all buys.
- Prepare weekly reviews of stores and products for Monday trading meetings.
- Identify priority stores for the week, review performance, and propose actions.
- Analyze performance of New / Re-fit Stores.
- Monitor Over / Under Performing Stores and Over / Under Optioned Stores.
- Coordinate with management or other functions to prioritize stores.
- Complete Retail Feedback sheets, follow up on required actions.
- Participate in store visits and develop action plans to improve trade.
- Manage line cards alongside the Merchandiser.
- Contribute to the Monthly Re-forecast.
- Manage stock condensation and IBTs.
- Assist retail with merchandising aids, following direction from the Merchandiser.
- Monitor exception stocks daily using the GUI system.
- Ensure stores are seasonally aligned.
- Plan and execute new store ranges in conjunction with pre-scheduling.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses as needed.
- Consolidate supplier order books.
- Book in new products according to Merchandiser guidelines.
- Conduct cost, retail, and margin checks.
- Report to the Merchandiser.
- Collaborate with the Merchandise Team and Buyer.
- Seek guidance on best merchandising practices from the Trading Manager and implement them.
- Develop relationships with Store Operations, Visuals, Marketing, DC, etc., as appropriate.
