We want to be the leading global omnichannel retailer in the sports and outdoor industry. Working within the JD private label team at the head office in Bury, you will be part of a busy design and development office and interact with external departments and businesses across the Group. JD private labels are an integral part of the JD retail offering, designed, developed, and manufactured in-house through our transparent supply chain, with a focus on sustainability.

  • Arrange product tech packs and fabrics to facilitate cross-costing sampling exercises.
  • Attend Own Brand seasonal sourcing meetings and follow up on supplier feedback, performance, and source-base gaps.
  • Work independently and take initiative on supplier emails and queries.
  • Co-ordinate supplier visits/meetings with the development teams.
  • Attend factory visits and report/follow up.
  • Build relationships and maintain open dialogue with suppliers, ensuring they are supported with new and upcoming projects and that performance is communicated.
  • Assist in the onboarding and set-up of new suppliers/factories, including understanding the ethical code of conduct.
  • Assist and consult the sourcing manager/senior leadership on upcoming legislation, geopolitical issues, and global developments that may affect sourcing, production, and suppliers.
  • Stakeholder in the implementation of the Own Brand sustainability strategy.
  • Understand QC AQL processes and assist QC in implementing them with suppliers.
  • Understand global shipping and duty rate changes and challenges.
