The Payroll team supports our colleagues across the business by ensuring their pay is processed seamlessly. Our aim is to deliver a first‑class service so our colleagues can keep doing what they do best!

The Payroll Team Leader will work alongside the other Team Leaders, Assistant Managers, and Payroll Managers to deliver high quality service and support the development of a team of 16 payroll associates and executives, handling payroll for our 30,000 colleagues across the UK and Republic of Ireland. Your role will encompass overseeing the team and assisting them with ongoing training and development, ensuring payroll is completed accurately and efficiently, handling colleague queries, and implementing process improvements to streamline operations.

Key Duties / Responsibilities

  • Ensure completion of payroll for 30,000 colleagues across 2 monthly payrolls, including 5 offshore payrolls and 3 ROI payrolls
  • Ensure the team meets key deadlines and SLA’s with a high level of quality
  • Promote best practice and keep colleagues at the centre of the team’s activities
  • Train the team on payroll processing and legislative changes, monitor performance and support career development
  • Identify query trends and liaise with stakeholders to resolve issues at source
  • Serve as the go‑to person for guidance and support within the team and across the business
  • Have experience with Dayforce payroll software
  • Hold a CIPP or similar accredited qualification
  • Have experience mentoring a team
  • Analyze processes and drive continuous improvement

Essential Skills

  • Previous experience with high‑volume payrolls
  • Solid understanding of payroll, benefits, and general legislation, including offshore or ROI legislation knowledge
  • Strong time‑management and coordination skills to meet key deadlines
  • People‑focused, with a desire to see the team succeed
