Job Purpose
As a Reverse Warehouse Supervisor, you will lead and manage the daily operations of the reverse logistics function at our Milton Keynes distribution centre. This includes overseeing product returns, repairs, refurbishments, repackaging, and recycling, while ensuring process efficiency, inventory accuracy, and high-quality service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Supervise, coach, and develop a team of reverse logistics operatives to meet performance and productivity targets.
- Process Management: Oversee return workflows including customer returns, supplier returns, damaged goods, quality inspections, refurbishments, and re-stocking.
- Inventory Control: Ensure accurate data entry and tracking of returned inventory in the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Compliance & Quality: Maintain adherence to JD Logistics’ standard operating procedures (SOPs), quality checks, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and cost-saving initiatives in the reverse supply chain.
- Reporting: Provide daily/weekly reporting on returns volumes, team performance, and operational KPIs to management.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with customer service, transport, IT, and procurement teams to resolve issues related to returns and reverse flows.
Requirements
- Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role (reverse logistics preferred).
- Strong understanding of reverse supply chain processes (returns, refurbishments, repackaging, etc.).
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Understanding of lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies is an advantage.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and peak periods.
