You’ll be joining the JINGDONG Logistics team, which values collaboration, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced environment.

Responsible for developing, delivering, and assessing comprehensive driver training programmes to ensure all JD drivers operate safely, legally, and efficiently. The role supports compliance with UK transport legislation while promoting a strong safety culture and improving driver performance through coaching, mentoring, and performance monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver driver inductions for new permanent and temporary drivers in a timely manner.
  • Conduct practical training and assessments for new and existing drivers (various class licences).
  • Monitor driver performance using telematics and identify training or coaching requirements.
  • Deliver refresher training and remedial coaching following incidents, complaints, or performance concerns.
  • Support drivers throughout their probation period with mentoring and ongoing development.
  • Promote safe, legal, fuel-efficient driving practices in line with company standards and legislation.
  • Ensure compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, Tachograph regulations, DVSA standards, and Road Traffic legislation.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on driver safety to managers and supervisors.
  • Develop, update, and deliver training materials using classroom sessions, practical coaching, simulations, and online learning where appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate training, assessment, and compliance records.
  • Produce reports on driver competence, training effectiveness, and performance trends.
  • Liaise with Transport Management to improve driver standards and fleet safety.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and contribute to reducing fleet incidents.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Full UK Class 1 (C+E) Driving Licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC Qualification.
  • Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
  • Clean UK driving licence.
  • Excellent knowledge of DVSA standards, Drivers' Hours Regulations, Working Time Directive & Tachograph legislation, and Road Traffic legislation.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Experience as a Driver Trainer, Driver Assessor, or an experienced Class 1 driver looking to move into training.
  • Ability to deliver engaging classroom and practical driver training.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
  • Experience conducting driving assessments and providing constructive feedback.
  • Ability to analyse telematics data and identify driver development needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Competent using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and training management systems.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK to deliver training.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with SAFED or Smith System advanced driver training.
  • Experience designing and developing training materials.
  • Experience delivering training through a variety of learning methods, including classroom, webinars, simulations, and practical coaching.
