About The Team

As the Apprentice Program Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end management of JD's apprenticeship program within the UK logistics division. Your core mission is to attract, select, develop, and transition high-potential apprentices into JD Logistics' operational and strategic roles. You will work closely with UK-based HR Business Partners, university partners, and logistics operations leaders to ensure the program aligns with both business needs and academic standards.

What You'll Do

  • Program Strategy & Planning
    • Design and implement the UK degree apprenticeship recruitment and development strategy for JD Logistics.
    • Define program goals, success metrics, and annual recruitment targets in collaboration with logistics leadership.
    • Ensure compliance with UK apprenticeship standards, funding rules, and regulatory requirements.
  • Talent Attraction & Recruitment
    • Develop and execute targeted recruitment campaigns to attract diverse, high-caliber candidates for logistics-related degree apprenticeships.
    • Manage the entire selection process: screening, assessment, interviews, and offer management.
    • Build and maintain relationships with universities, colleges, and training providers across the UK.
  • Apprentice Onboarding & Development
    • Coordinate the onboarding process for new apprentices, ensuring a smooth transition into JD Logistics.
    • Partner with academic institutions to align curriculum with JD's operational needs and company values.
    • Monitor apprentice progress, provide career guidance, and facilitate mentorship within JD Logistics teams.
  • Program Management & Evaluation
    • Track apprentice performance, retention, and completion rates against KPIs.
    • Gather feedback from apprentices, managers, and educators to continuously improve the program.
    • Prepare and manage the apprenticeship levy and budget for the UK logistics division.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration
    • Act as the primary point of contact for UK HR Business Partners, logistics operations managers, and university partners.
    • Facilitate regular reviews between JD Logistics leadership and academic partners.
    • Promote the apprenticeship program internally and externally to enhance JD's employer brand in the UK.

What We're Looking For

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in apprenticeship program management, talent acquisition, or graduate recruitment within the UK.
  • Strong understanding of the UK apprenticeship framework, including standards, funding, and assessment processes.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working with academic institutions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.

Preferred

  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations roles within a large organization.
  • Familiarity with JD's business model and values.
  • Professional certification in HR or apprenticeship management (e.g., CIPD, AAT).
