We are seeking an experienced Training Manager to lead our Commercial Retail Training Academy, responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that enhance the commercial capabilities of our teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong commercial background, with in-depth knowledge of 1P (1st Party) retail business and supply chain, and experience in merchandising or strategy teams within retail environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training strategy for the European Online Retail 'Commercial Training Academy', aligned with JD Worldwide business objectives.
- Design, deliver, and evaluate training programs that cover 1P business, supply chain, merchandising, and retail strategy.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify training needs and develop targeted solutions.
- Guide and develop a European team of category leads (Category Captains) to support the roll out and delivery of training programs under the Academy portfolio or development products.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and new technologies to ensure training programs remain relevant and effective.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make data-driven decisions to improve the academy’s impact.
Qualifications & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a commercial role, with a focus on 1P business, supply chain, merchandising, or retail strategy.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs, either in a dedicated training role or as part of a commercial team.
- In-depth knowledge of e-commerce retail operations, including merchandising, category management, and supply chain management.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, with a strong understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the e-commerce, retail and tech industries.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate learners at all levels.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Familiarity with adult learning principles, instructional design, and e-learning platforms is desirable.
- CIPD Level 3/5, Project Management Professional (PMP), or Association for Talent Development (ATD) certifications would be preferred.
