About The Team

JD Worldwide is scaling its international Legal and Compliance function as part of a significant period of growth across our European operations. We are looking for a Commercial Lawyer to join our Legal team, based in London, providing pragmatic, commercially-minded legal support across the business.This is a great opportunity for a qualified lawyer who enjoys working in a fast-paced, international environment, partnering closely with commercial, compliance, and operational stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions.

What You'll Do

- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, distribution agreements, logistics and fulfilment contracts, technology and licensing agreements, and NDAs
- Provide day-to-day legal advice to commercial, procurement, and operations teams on contractual and regulatory risk
- Support cross-border trading activities, including e-commerce, retail, and supply chain arrangements across UK, EU, and international markets
- Advise on consumer facing e-commerce and marketing matters, including customer terms, website and app journeys.
- Review and advise on advertising and marketing copy, promotions and campaigns, including pricing, social media content or affiliate arrangements.
- Provide practical data protection and privacy advice including on privacy notices, cookies and direct marketing, data-processing and data-sharing arrangements, and international data transfers.
- Work closely with the Compliance team on regulatory matters affecting commercial operations (consumer protection, competition law, data protection and product compliance)
- Manage and instruct external counsel where required, ensuring cost-effective use of outside legal resource
- Contribute to the development of template agreements, playbooks, and self-serve legal resources to improve efficiency across the business
- Support ad hoc projects, including new market entry, vendor onboarding, and commercial dispute resolution
- Partner with the Legal & Compliance leadership team on process improvements as the function continues to build out

About You
\n
- \n
- Qualified solicitor (England & Wales) with strong post-qualification experience in commercial law, ideally with signficiant in-house experience working in or advising an e-commerce, retail or logistics environment.
- Solid experience drafting and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts
- A good working knowledge of consumer protection, marketing and advertising and data protection law relevant to an e-commerce and logistics business.
- Comfortable working autonomously in a lean, fast-growing legal team
- Strong commercial judgement — able to balance legal risk with business pragmatism
- Experience supporting international or cross-border operations is highly desirable
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts clearly to non-legal audiences
- Experience in retail, e-commerce, logistics, or technology sectors is a plus
