We are seeking an ambitious and driven Category Manager to support building our UK grocery range focusing on ambient and store cupboard assortments providing the best selection of items for our UK consumers at the best price. The ideal candidate will have experience in category management and building meaningful supplier relationships ensuring the optimum product offering is developed for our customers. This role offers a unique opportunity to build and shape category strategies and contribute to the growth of a new and dynamic e-commerce business.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the end-to-end category management process within ambient product assortments.
- Support the category leader in developing and nurturing strategic partnerships with national and local supply partners.
- Analyse key metrics and range gaps to derive strategies on how to improve supplier and category performance.
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
- Assist in developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies, including pricing structures and promotional campaigns.
- Develop long-term category strategies which are fit for the local market to ensure customer acquisition and retention as well as growth in key category KPIs.
- Cross departmental engagement with supply chain, app development, and marketing to deliver a best-in-class service to our customers.
- Procurement, Merchandising or buying experience within FMCG.
- The ideal candidate will have eCommerce experience in ambient food categories.
- Understanding of consumers, with market insights and purchasing expertise.
