About The Team
You’ll be joining the JINGDONG Logistics team, which values collaboration, ownership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Scope
The cluster manager role in JDL last mile operations has oversight for multiple depots within a defined geographical area. The role holder has full responsibility and accountability for on-site coverage for People, Safety, Performance and Quality across those depots. The role reports into the Director for Last Mile Operations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Cluster Operational Ownership: Hold full responsibility and accountability for a geographically defined cluster of delivery stations, ensuring full on-site coverage across all stations in scope.
- People, Safety, Performance and Quality: Own the four core pillars across every station in the cluster. Build and develop high-performing site teams, ensure safety, security, and compliance standards at all locations, and drive consistent performance and quality outcomes for the cluster of delivery stations.
- Operations and Staff Planning: Direct day-to-day operations across the cluster, including resource allocation, shift and staff planning, and capacity management, adapting coverage to meet fluctuating volume and changing operational demands across multiple sites.
- Escalation Management: Act as the primary escalation point for all delivery stations within scope, resolving operational, service, and people issues promptly and routing strategic or cross-functional matters to the appropriate country or regional function.
- Partner Performance Management: Manage Partner performance with the Partner Country Manager and the country/regional lead, using KPIs and structured reviews to hold partners accountable for delivery quality, timeliness, and compliance across the cluster.
Job Requirements:
- Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree or above, in Logistics, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Language Requirement: Fluent in English as a working language for briefings, reporting, and cross-functional communication. Additional regional languages are an advantage given the multi-site, multi-market nature of the cluster.
- Work Experience: 5+ years of experience in logistics or warehouse operations, ideally including last-mile delivery, with proven experience managing multiple sites or a multi-team operation in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional Competence: Strong people leadership with a track record of recruiting, training, developing, and managing diverse teams across locations. Data-driven mindset with demonstrated use of KPIs to guide operational decisions, and proficiency in logistics systems and Microsoft Office tools.
- Soft Skills: Proactive, hands-on leader with strong communication and coaching abilities. Capable of cross-functional coordination with transport, HR, and customer service teams, comfortable with regular travel between cluster sites, and able to maintain operational consistency across a dispersed footprint.
Desirable Experience:
- Background in e-commerce, courier, or delivery service operations.
- Direct experience managing Partners and performance framework.
- Familiarity with delivery management platforms and routing optimisation tools.
