We’re currently seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support a high-impact data migration and performance tuning project on a contract basis.
Location: Primarily remote – one day per month in office
Day Rate: £300/day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: Initial 6 months, with potential extension
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver on a major data migration project (data centre to data centre)
- Perform BAU support and troubleshooting across a complex data estate
- Conduct performance tuning and architecture analysis
- Run SQL Server analysis to understand application usage
- Support and manage application-related data requirements
- Assist with basic testing and end-to-end project delivery
- Go beyond traditional DBA maintenance—think strategically and analytically
- 5+ years’ experience with SQL Server (2016 and above)
- Strong T-SQL abilities (writing, optimizing, troubleshooting)
- Azure cloud exposure, especially on-prem to Azure migration
- Skilled in PowerShell scripting
- Solid grasp of SQL Server Service Bus and modern architecture practices
- Single-stage Teams interview
- Quick turnaround and onboarding
