Database Administrator

Contract DBA – Remote/Hybrid – £300 per day (Inside IR35)

We’re currently seeking an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to support a high-impact data migration and performance tuning project on a contract basis.

📍 Location: Primarily remote – one day per month in office

💰 Day Rate: £300/day (Inside IR35)

🕐 Start Date: ASAP

📅 Duration: Initial 6 months, with potential extension

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver on a major data migration project (data centre to data centre)
• Perform BAU support and troubleshooting across a complex data estate
• Conduct performance tuning and architecture analysis
• Run SQL Server analysis to understand application usage
• Support and manage application-related data requirements
• Assist with basic testing and end-to-end project delivery
• Go beyond traditional DBA maintenance—think strategically and analytically

Essential Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience with SQL Server (2016 and above)
• Strong T-SQL abilities (writing, optimizing, troubleshooting)
• Azure cloud exposure, especially on-prem to Azure migration
• Skilled in PowerShell scripting
• Solid grasp of SQL Server Service Bus and modern architecture practices
