Senior PMO Consultant: Major Public Sector Transformation
Location: Central London (primarily Holborn, with occasional travel to Lambeth, Kennington, Kilburn and NSY) | 3 days a week on site
Clearance: Must be eligible for UK security clearance
The opportunity
Our client, a leading change consultancy, is delivering a large-scale, high-profile transformation for a major UK public sector body. It’s a multi-year programme with real national visibility, and the kind of work people build their careers on. They’re looking for Senior PMO Consultants to join at the start of this journey.
The role
You’ll be the glue that holds a complex programme together: a hands-on PMO professional who rolls their sleeves up and keeps delivery on track. You will:
- Coordinate programme governance and support forums, boards and decision-making
- Own planning, scheduling and reporting across workstreams
- Track milestones, actions, risks, issues and dependencies (RAID)
- Manage resource and performance information, and produce clear MI for senior stakeholders
- Support change management activity, taking transformation from design through to adoption
- Build strong relationships across the programme and challenge constructively when needed
About you
- Proven PMO experience on large, complex public sector programmes (HMPPS, NHS, central government, policing or similar)
- Typically 5+ years in PMO roles at Consultant or Senior Consultant level
- Strong grounding in governance, planning and reporting, plus confidence with RAID management
- A natural communicator: approachable, credible and easy to work with at every level
- A self-starter who spots problems early and gets stuck in
- Eligible for UK security clearance (see below)
Security clearance
This role requires clearance. Candidates should have lived in the UK continuously for at least the last 5 years and be able to meet vetting requirements. We’ll confirm your eligibility in an initial conversation.
Nice to have: MSP, P3O, PRINCE2 or APM; experience in policing or justice; Jira, MS Project, Power BI or Smartsheet.
