Our client is an established financial institution specialising in emerging and frontier market infrastructure. They provide credit solutions supporting essential projects across renewable energy, transport, housing, social infrastructure, agribusiness and related sectors.

We are seeking an experienced Credit Manager to join the London-based team. The role involves complex, bespoke transactions and requires strong analysis, sound judgement and the confidence to challenge investment assumptions constructively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead credit analysis for new transactions across multiple African markets
  • Produce clear, high-quality credit papers for senior approval forums
  • Participate in due diligence and site visits as required
  • Assess project risks and support the structuring of credit enhancement solutions
  • Provide ongoing credit oversight across the African portfolio
  • Work closely with investment colleagues while retaining autonomy on credit matters

Requirements

  • Mandatory experience working on transactions in African markets (this is mandatory)
  • Strong background in project finance or structured credit
  • Ability to assess bespoke, non-standard transactions
  • Proven experience drafting credit recommendations at a high standard
  • Financial modelling literacy sufficient to interrogate key assumptions
  • Intellectual curiosity and the ability to work across varied sectors
  • French language skills are advantageous but not essential
  • Willingness to travel periodically for due diligence
